Emil Schneider has been giving piano to adult beginners and children for over 20 years. He has also gained experience as a lounge pianist at The Hyatt, Old Parktonian and Michael Angelo.

A Light Fun Approach
Emil instructs adult beginners and children alike, using a uniquely developed teaching method that will ensure the pupil the joy of being able to play their first piece of music and understand the theory associated with it, within a month.
The pupil will acquire all the relevant theory while taking the light fun approach to playing the piano. This will ensure that playing the piano will become an enjoyable hobby. The pupil will be taught the theory needed – the workings of the major scale and the major chord, the foundation on which music in its entirety is based, to help him/her develop their playing skills. Each new piece of music learnt will be slightly more advanced than the last to ensure the steady development and understanding of music.
Taking exams is not for everyone and for those who would like to take a light fun approach to playing the piano, a course has been carefully designed especially to accommodate you while still receiving a good foundation and understanding of music theory.
When taking a light fun approach to playing the piano, the pupil will not be given dozens of scales and/or arpeggios to practice, as is done when the pupil takes on a more serious approach to playing the piano. An example of a more serious approach is when a pupil decides to do exams. Exercises like scales and arpeggios as well as sight reading is required along with all the relevant classical pieces and Bach inventions will be essential for the pupil to develop their skills if they choose to do exams.
Piano Lesson Duration
The ideal duration of a piano lesson for either teenagers and or adults, is 40 minutes. However the lesson often goes on for 45 minutes, depending on the pupil. Children are generally not able to concentrate for longer than 30 minutes, thus the reduction in piano lesson duration and consequently piano lesson fee.
It is important that you are able to commit to one day of the week on which you will have your piano lesson. This will encourage you develop a good routine for practice that will ensure your steady progress.
Type Of Piano Required
For your practice sessions, having a good quality piano in your home, able to hold its tune, is required for the said results. Your piano could be either one that you own or a piano you have hired.
Most importantly, your piano needs to stay in tune as well as having 88 keys. Unfortunately, an electric keyboard having only 66 keys will not serve your needs when learning to play the piano because you really do need the other 22 keys which you will not have with a small electric keyboard.
Number Of Lessons In A Month
One Piano Lesson Per Week.
One month of piano lessons consists one day per week for four weeks where you will be billed for four piano lessons. When there is a fifth piano lesson in a five week month, then you will be charged separately for that fifth lesson according to the cost per lesson during a four week month. A fifth lesson in a five week month will therefore not be included in the pricing of a four week month and will thus be charged separately.
Two Piano Lessons Per Week.
For those who would like to have two lessons per week. These extra lessons will also be charged separately and thus the music pupil will be charged for eight lessons in a four week month. A fifth or ninth lesson in a five week month will not be included in the pricing of a four week month and will thus be charged separately.
Where Are Lessons Held
Piano lessons can be given at the piano teacher’s home in Darrenwood Randburg if that would suit your weekly schedule better. It is ideal to commit to a set day and time of each week as this will assist in your ability to develop a steady practice routine.
Unavailable : Piano Lessons at your home. Within a distance, of eight kilometres of the piano teacher’s home in Darrenwood Randburg, the piano teacher at his own discretion, is able to travel to your home for weekly piano lessons.
Unavailable : A separate travel fee will be charged for each time the piano teacher travels to your home for your piano lessons and will be added to your monthly account.
Giving Notice
Please kindly give a calendar month of notice when dis-continuing piano lessons. A 30 / 31 day calendar month of notice, would be the following (01 of a Month to 30/31 of a Month)
